Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn has been an American actor in film television and stage since the end of the 1970s. Since the age of 27 she has been an active professional thespian. She first appeared on stage as a character in a 1990 production of The Big Funk (John Patrick Shanley) Off-Broadway. The Perfect Tribute was her debut TV role a year after. In 1992, she was a supporting character in Basic Instinct the film, her career started to take off. It was in the movie The Firm however that she got the role of female lead for the very first time, and this was also against famous actors such as Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. In the 90s, she worked alongside some of the top actors in Hollywood, like Gwyneth Paltrow as well as Hugh Grant. In recent times, she played Dr. Alex Blake (a police procedural-crime drama) in Criminal Minds.
